You can use Telnet file functions to view directories and to boot the Master to which your machine is attached.
Log into the system using Telnet (refer to the documentation that came with your computer for Telnet features).
From a Windows workstation, access Telnet.
Connect to the Master (enter the Master IP address). A prompt asks for your user name.
Type your user name (this is the your user ID not the NT Server ID). A prompt asks for your password.
Type your password. Once you are logged in, the MCRUN prompt appears and you can use the Telnet functions.
Booting the Master using Telnet
For the boot function to work, the file add_tnet.dll must be present in the Master’s run directory.
Once you are logged in, to boot the Master computer type: boot and press <Enter>. The Master will restart and your Telnet session will be terminated. You can either close the session or log in again. Help functions are accessible via the Help command.
Using Telnet Spy (Serial Communications Analyzer)
A Serial Communications Analyzer (Telnet Spy) diagnostic program is incorporated into the MC3000 program. You access it through a Telnet connection and use it for diagnostics on each I/O port. It shows incoming and outgoing data on the port in HEX characters.
To start the Telnet Spy
From a Windows workstation, access Telnet and log in.
From the MCRUN prompt type: Spy x (where x is the port you want to view.)
